Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I have my jewelry appraised?

We recommend updating your jewelry appraisals every 3 to 5 years. Precious metal and diamond values fluctuate, and older appraisals may leave you underinsured.

Do I need to leave my jewelry with you?

In most cases, we can complete the appraisal in 1 to 2 business days. For high-value items, you can book a same-day laboratory appointment.

What is the difference between a GIA report and an appraisal?

A GIA report grades a loose diamond's quality (color, clarity, cut) but does not assign monetary value. An appraisal evaluates the complete finished jewelry piece and assigns a replacement dollar value.

Are appraisals accepted by all insurance companies?

Yes. Our appraisals are written to strict USPAP and GIA standards and are accepted by all major insurance underwriters worldwide.
